UPDATE: As of Thursday, March 12th 2020 this event has been cancelled/postponed due to the emergency regarding the Corona Virus outbreak. Public Health officials have strongly advised that non-essential groups activities be avoided, and our host site also determined that it was best for all to shut down gatherings.
The original event description is being left up because it is our strong hope that we will be able to re-schedule this event in the future, after the current situation is resolved.
Thanks for your understanding.
(original description follows:)
Session time for THIS public art class is Wednesday, March 25th, 2020 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Magna Library.
Paint-It Art Classes are a program of the Magna Arts Council. They encourage and celebrate the joy of creative art by providing a pathway to help people make their own painting in a single 2-hour session. The evening is led by local artist/teacher Serenity Forschen, who creates the original artwork and guides participants through a step-by-step plan in each session.
This session is best for adults and older teens, but younger kids down to age 8 are OK, as long as each has a parent or guardian in the room to keep them on pace.
There is a $5 per person “Supply Fee” which includes the required supplies, along with attendance at the group instruction session. The $5 supply fee only applies to people using supplies and making art. (So a parent attending only to assist or watch their child, or to provide a ride but not making a painting is not charged.)
You get an art painting canvas/board to work on and keep. And you also get to use all the other supplies you’ll need, like paint, brushes, easels, etc., which are brought by the organizers. (After the session you keep your canvas/board, but the other supplies stay with the event organizers for future programs like this.)
